In 2014, we recently developed a wind-blocker for the Mazda MX5 NC, and one for the Audi A3. Production of further wind-blocker for the BMW F33 has almost been completed and will be available for sale in 2015.

The wind-blocker is an important component for convertibles.
It prevents the stream of air that separates from the windscreen frame, creating an “indefinable area of turbulence”, from flowing between the seats or the open head restraints.
All of our wind deflectors have been TÜV-certified and are each delivered with TÜV approval. This means that the vehicles’ type approval is maintained without any additional certification.
As each wind-blocker is produced for a specific vehicle, a 100 % perfect fit is guaranteed. Every model provides unrestricted visibility to the rear, even when the hood is closed. All components are expertly and professionally manufactured to the highest quality and all the individual parts are subjected to precise, exhaustive quality control before they go on sale.
The roll bar inserts
Open roll bars should be closed, because without inserts the air flows off the wind-blocker and through the open roll bar onto the occupant’s head. The design of our roll-bar inserts not only prevents this undesirable airflow but also achieves additional noise insulation (by approx. 12 dB) by means of their special perforation.
The height of the wind-blocker
The bigger the wind-blocker, the less turbulence is created. Although it should not be too high, because then the airflow stalls in front of the air-blocker and can cause draughts. This also increases the risk of rattling noises, so the mountings or brackets have to be larger.
It is possible to demonstrate objectively what difference a two-centimetre wider or higher wind-blocker makes. Similarly the angle of the screen also plays a crucial role in selection. Which is why we have calculated the optimum height and angle for our wind-blockers.
In general wind-blockers and roll bar inserts should end very close to the roll bar and not be arched too far back, as this in turn creates a gap through which the wind, accelerated as through a jet, creates a whistling noise and virtually eliminates the protection from the wind.
Why real glass?

Do you drive a stylish convertible and do you value safety and quality? Our rear and side windows are made of tempered safety glass, also known as Sekurit. The windscreen is made of laminated safety glass.
Glass is many times harder and more durable than Plexiglas, acrylic, Lexan or any polycarbonates – they are and will always be plastics! When the hood is open, dust is deposited on the interior and on the wind-blocker (also as a result of static charges). As a result of the lack of hardness, scratches quickly appear which only get worse over time and can no longer be removed. These materials also very quickly become matt and opaque.
This is where the big difference lies, because the glass wind-blocker is very east to clean, just like all the other glass in your car. It is highly durable. Furthermore, section 40 of the German Road Traffic Act specifies that all windows etc., with the exception of light lenses, must be made of safety glass! Safety glass is defined as glass or a similar substance which cannot cause serious injury when broken! These have to be labelled with the officially assigned certification mark (ESG [tempered safety glass] or Sekurit + DIN 1249/ISO)
This is also why a TÜV entry or type approval is required for wind-blockers made of plastic. They do not break easily and not into small pieces, which can lead to serious injuries in the event of an accident. Furthermore, your insurance cover may lapse when a plastic wind-blocker is used. Our wind-blockers are made of the required material and have TÜV approval, which certifies once again that no additional inspection entry or type approval is required.
